If you join the list

We keep your email address, the date you joined and which page you joined from.

We use it to email you about the book and the shop. We only do that because you asked by signing up. You can leave at any time by replying to any email or writing to hello@onlycameraintheroom.com, and we will delete your address.

Visitor counts

We count page views and button clicks so we know what works. For each one we record the day, the page, the button, the website you came from if your browser tells us, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. We don’t record your IP address, we don’t set cookies and nothing in the counts identifies you. We do this because it is in our legitimate interest to run and improve the site, and we keep the counts for up to 24 months.

Our web host

The site, the list and the counts are stored with our web host, DreamHost, which acts on our behalf. DreamHost is based in the United States and so are its servers. Like any host it keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and to fix problems.

When we start sending emails to the list we will use an email service, and we will name it here before your address is moved to it.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies. The fonts and images are served from our own host.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit what we do with it, to object to it, or to have it in a portable form. Email hello@onlycameraintheroom.com and we will reply within a month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie.
