Delivery

Everything is packed and posted by hand from Dublin. Here is when it goes, how long it takes and who carries the risk while it is in the post.

When your order ships

The book is a pre order. The first edition is at the printer and every pre order is posted from early December 2026, give or take. You are charged when you order, which is what holds your copy.

T shirts, caps, totes and prints are posted within seven working days of your order, once the shop is open. If anything is going to take longer than that we tell you.

How long it takes once it is posted

These are typical times from the day the parcel leaves us. They are good estimates rather than promises, because once it is handed over the timing is the postal service's, not ours.

Typical delivery times by destination
Where it is goingTypical time
Ireland, all island2 to 3 working days
United Kingdom5 to 7 working days
Europe7 to 10 working days
Rest of the world14 to 28 working days

Customs can add time to anything leaving the European Union, and we have no way to hurry that along. Outside the EU you may be charged duty or import VAT on arrival. That is set by your own country and is yours to pay, not something we collect or control.

If nothing has arrived 30 days after we posted it, treat it as lost and email us. We will send another or refund you, your choice.

What it costs

Postage is not baked into the price. The price on the page is the goods, and postage is added at the checkout once you tell us where it is going, so you see the full amount before you pay anything.

Order more than one thing and it goes in one parcel at one postage, rather than once per item.

A 188 page hardback in a rigid board mailer is a heavy parcel, which is what those rates cover. Prints and merch weigh less and are worked out at the checkout.

How it is sent

By An Post from Dublin. The book goes in a rigid board mailer, because a 188 page hardback posted in a padded bag arrives with bent corners and we are not doing that. Prints go flat and backed, never rolled. Tracking is included wherever the service offers it, and we send you the number with the dispatch email.

While it is in the post, it is ours

The goods are at our risk until they are physically in your hands. If a parcel is lost, or it turns up damaged, that is ours to fix and not something for you to argue with a courier about. Send a photograph to hello@onlycameraintheroom.com and we will replace it or refund you.

Getting the address right

Check the address before you pay, and include an Eircode or postcode if you have one. If you spot a mistake, email us the same day and we will almost always catch it before the parcel goes. Once it is posted we cannot redirect it.

Returns and refunds

Separate from everything above. You have 14 days from the day it arrives to change your mind, for any reason or none. Separately, if something turns up damaged or is not what we said it was, that is on us, and that right is not limited to 14 days.

Changing your mind

Buying online makes this a distance contract, so the Consumer Rights Act 2022 gives you 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. The 14 days run from the day the parcel arrives, not the day you pay. That matters on a pre order: if you order in October and the book ships in December, your 14 days begin in December, once it is in your hands.

Email hello@onlycameraintheroom.com from the address you ordered with. Any clear statement that you are cancelling is enough.

Sending it back

Once you have told us, you have 14 days to post it back to c/o The Playground, Unit 6, Glenview Industrial Estate, Herberton Road, Dublin D12 PE8C. Pack it as well as we packed it to you.

You pay the return postage when you are simply changing your mind. We pay it when something is faulty, damaged or not what we described. Open the parcel and look at what you bought, the way you would handle it in a shop. If it comes back in a worse state than that, we may reduce the refund by the value lost, and we will tell you if that happens and why.

Getting your money back

We refund what you paid for the goods, plus the postage you paid to get them to you. If you chose a faster delivery than our standard one, we refund the standard amount. The money goes back to the same payment method you used, within 14 days of the goods reaching us. Send back part of an order and we refund that part.

If it arrives damaged, or it is not what we said

This is separate from changing your mind and it is not limited to 14 days. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 what we send has to match how we describe it, be of satisfactory quality and be fit for what it is for. If it is not, you have 30 days to reject it and get all your money back. After that you can ask for a repair or a replacement, and if that is not possible or does not work, a price reduction or your money back.

Anything damaged in the post is our problem, not yours. The goods are at our risk until they are in your hands. Send a photograph to hello@onlycameraintheroom.com and we will put it right. We pay the return postage on anything faulty.

T shirts, caps and tote bags

Same 14 days. Try a shirt on the way you would in a changing room. Wearing it out for a night and washing it is past that, and we may reduce the refund accordingly.

If we cannot sort it between us

Email us first and we will do our best. If you are still not happy, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission gives free advice to consumers in Ireland at ccpc.ie. Nothing on this page takes away or limits your legal rights.
